I came to Next Level Horsemanship ^TM after seeing Suzanne, Lauren, and Brooke show their wonderfully trained mustangs at the Ag Arena in State College, PA. I had been taking riding lessons elsewhere already, but I spoke to Suzanne after the presentation about coming out to see her work and to talk to her about what my options might be. It was the opportunity I had been waiting for! I spent several hours watching Suzanne and the other staff work with horses using natural horsemanship techniques. She and I talked about my interests and goals and created a riding program that would work for me as an individual. I signed up for the daily lease option and came once a week. I spent a couple of hours each time, taking my time with grooming, learning ground work, and honing my riding skills. It’s a wonderfully well-rounded program with plenty of feedback and input and flexibility. It’s about learning the broader aspects of horsemanship rather than focusing on the details of proper riding form. The horses available for lease are varied in personality and specialty, but they are all grounded in Suzanne’s basic training program, responding well to the rider and understanding what is being asked of them. Suzanne and Lauren were always welcoming and I felt free to show up anytime at their facility during their normal hours. I am sorry to be leaving Suzanne’s program, but a relocation out of state is taking me too far away to continue my training.
