PA EQUINE SHOWCASE LEAVES CROWD CHEERING AT 2011 PA FARM SHOW

Harrisburg – Several disciplines and breeds of horses entertained a large cheering crowd on Friday, Jan. 14, at the 2011 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, as part of the Equine Showcase.

“The Mustang Girls” from Next Level Horsemanship, owned by Dr. Suzanne Myers from Port Matilda, Centre County, were a crowd favorite Friday night. Myers, who won a wild mustang contest in 2008 with her mustang “Jazz,” demonstrated how Jazz can bow, lie down and kneel.

The Mustang Girls stressed to the audience they should have fun with their horses, and participating exhibitors had 90 days to train and tame a wild mustang.

The crowd cheered loudly as Myers rode around the arena handing out copies of her new DVD to the loudest fans in the audience.

Several other demonstrations were held by Paso Fino riders, cattle horse riders, jumping, dressage and a trick riding demonstration.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation, featuring nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 290 commercial exhibitors. The show runs Jan. 8-15 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. Admission is free and parking is $10.
